PORTLAND — Due to rainy conditions last week, the Portland Panthers and Hendersonville Commandos came together for a double-header baseball game at Portland High School on Tuesday, March 30.

Portland dropped both contests to their District 9-AAA foes, losing the first game 2-0 and the second 14-2.

The Panthers collected just six hits in the two games while their counterparts added 17 hits between the two wins.

In game one, Ryan Oden picked up the win, tossing seven complete innings, striking out nine batters and surrendering just two hits and two walks.

Leading 1-0 after the second inning, Hendersonville tacked on their insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning to seal the victory.
