PORTLAND- With both teams coming off of a loss in their first region 5-4A games of the season, Friday night’s matchup between Portland and Greenbrier was big for both sides. It was the Bobcats coming away with their first region win with a 19-12 victory.

The Panthers came out strong early with the run game. After three runs by Devyn Fuqua, Portland (1-3, 0-2) handed it to Cade Box, who took it 49 yards for the opening score. The extra point would sail wide right, but Portland held a 6-0 lead just three minutes into the action.
