The Portland Panthers soccer team had little trouble with district-foe Springfield Thursday night, as they cruised to a 9-0 victory. The mercy-rule victory is the second in the last three games for Portland. The first came during a 9-0 victory over Greenbrier last week.
Mac Craddock led the team in goals scored, finding the back of the net four times during the match. Both Chasey Piper and Meagan Kellum each scored two goals, while Lexie Williams added a goal to her resumé.
The win moves the Lady Panthers to 7-2 overall, 2-1 in conference play. The Panthers will be back in action for the Lady Championship Tournament that begins Sept. 13 and runs through the 15th. Portland will host its first home game of the season on Sept. 19 against rival White House at 6 p.m.
